Over the past few months we have been preparing Sailor Bandido for the 2010 Newport to Bermuda Race.  The first step was to make sure the boat will meet the race entry requirements.

This was completed in November.  Working with Ross Weene and Rodger Martin at Rodger Martin Yacht Design as well as Andrew Williams from 3D Measure, we were able to complete the measurement process.  The preliminary results indicate that the boat should meet the entry requirements for the race.

Getting to the start of the race is probably the bigger challenge than the race itself.  The boat is in very good shape so we are focusing on the race requirements at the current moment.  We should have all of that work done by the end of March in time for transport to the East Coast.

We also are happy to say that our effort will also help to raise funds for the American Cancer Society and the Little Red Door.  Both of these organizations provide important support to patients with cancer, but also in the areas of cancer prevention.
